1. How do I verify ownership of a property?


One of terranet's most important functions is the ability to quickly and accurately verify property ownership.There are several methods to verify the owner of a property -

  • Title Report - The private registered owner fields within the title report give information about the current owner(s) of the property. For more information on the title report, click here.

  • Order a Certificate of Title - terranet allows users to quickly and easily order copies of titles. For more information on ordering titles, click here.

2. How do I search for a title report?


terranet allows users to search for properties through owner's name, street address, title reference, appellation, or valuation reference. Simply choose one of terranet's search functions (simple, advanced, real time, or name and address) and enter your search criteria. For more information on searching, click here.

3. How do I search for the valuation and sales history of a property?


Searching for sales or valuation report is as simple as any other search. For details on searching, click here. There are several reasons why there may not be a valuation report for the property you have searched:

  • The property may be public land, and have no current valuation data. Check the property report or the cadastral for information about public land.

  • There may have been a problem matching the property to a valuation reference. IF you are unable to obtain a valuation report for a specific property, try searching for the property via a different variable, such as owner's name, or street address.Sales data is only displayed for the past seven years. If the property you have search does not include a sales report, it is likely that there has not been any sales within that time period. 4. Why is there no title report for the property I searched?


There are several reasons why you may not be able to find a title report for your search.

  • Please ensure that you have searched the correct property. Check that the proper search criteria have been entered.· The property you are searching may not have a title associated with it. This can happen in the case of newly subdivided properties, and when a property is in the process of being assigned a new title reference.

5. Why is there more than one match for my property search?


Some properties have more than one Certificate of Title associated with them. If your search returns more than one match, try to refine your search criteria. If you previously searched with the street address, try using the owner's name. Some properties may not have all of the reports available. For example, if a property has not been sold within the past seven years, there will not be a sales report available. 2. How do I cancel a document order?


If you want to cancel a document order, you must contact the terranet Help Line or the Customer Service Centre on 0508-4-TERRA (0508-4-83772) or send us an email, click here. If you send an email, make sure you have "cancellation" and the charging reference provided in the subject line so we will cancel your order before it will be charged.

3. How do I check the status of my order(s)?


If you want to check you order status, after logging in, click on the "View my order status" on the navigation menu. There you will find the statuses of your recent and historic orders.

There are 2 reasons why you may have received a wrong document.

  • The order was processed with an incorrect document number. To receive the correct document, please reorder with the correct document number.

5. I received my order as an email but I cannot open the attachment. Why?


There are several reasons why this may occur; the attached file is too big for your inbox or you do not have the correct programme to open the file. You must have Adobe 5.0 or higher to open documents delivered as PDF files. To download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here.

When you are a casual user of terranet, you are required to confirm your credit card details every 10 days. This message means it is time for you to do this again. You can confirm your credit details online at www.terranet.co.nz. This confirmation cannot be done via the WAP service.
